CELLAR VALL LLACH

Spain’s Priorat region is a rugged part of the world and home to some of the oldest vineyards in Europe, known for their ability to produce big wines that offer power, complexity and vitality. With steep slopes and impossibly rough, rock-filled, dark slate soils these wineries are ‘green’ by default, using techniques such as horse-plowed ground simply because it is the only option for farming this land. With treacherous terrain and steep slopes, vintners and vineyard workers use this land not because it is beautiful or easy to access (you literally don't want to walk the vineyards because you're afraid of falling down), but because of the concentrated, powerful and beautifully fresh wines that can be produced.
